would love to see your black FD's!

Hi all.. would love to see your black FD's, as I'm hopefully taking ownership of my first/a '93 B&T sometime next month. I'll most likely stick with a pretty clean, stock look, but would love some ideas! (if there's already a thread for this color, feel free to call me a jackass & point me to it )

Thanks for the warm welcome & keep the pics coming guys! (nice album btw Rice Hata) Providing the owner doesn't run off with my down payment or something, I'm basically just saving for shipping now. All work/maintenance done @ rx7.com, yearly, for the last 15yrs. (including a 12k old rebuild, among other goodies & all receipts )

EDIT - oh yeah.. would love to see RB's front Chin Spoiler too, if anybody's got one, especially on black. thinking of getting that & just spraying it matte/primer black

did you check out the car yourself or are you just going off by what the owner says. Be very careful if you didnt check the car out yourself. It happen to me twice already. first time i bought a rx7 online and it look good and everything but when the car got here it needed alot of work. If I check out the car in person I woulda def turn it down. The second time an evo x wanted to trade for one of my cars and he was far away. We discuss shipping but luckily he was willing to drive up. it turns out no body panels lined up car ran like sh*t. and he had other people lined up to trade on his route. I'm not tellin you this to scare you away. Its just buying cars are one of those things you gotta check out in person. good luck and heres some pic of my black on red

Yours looks great & thanks for the words of wisdom. Unfortunately @ 1000 miles away, (the typical distance of any decent FD to me), I can't go see it in person. So far I've fared well in my long-distance vehicle purchases & will keep my fingers crossed that's how they stay! (I've also been playing 20 questions with him for about the last month, among other things )

Thanks for the kind words guys. You can see where my car came from and where it is today, it's definitely been a journey over the last 2 years! These cars are constant projects, so make sure you have extra money for maintenance and upkeep.

I flew to Ohio to purchase my car and I would recommend (as Fosingwo says) to try to see the car in person. $200-300 and a day of your time could save you $$$ and frustration later on.

I'm not sure if RB still makes the chin spoilers, as I haven't seen them in a while. If you find one, buy one. Good luck with your purchase and make sure you search the forums, there's a lot of great info on here.

No worries, I'm not jumping into this as a total n00b. It's taken more than two years lurking & talking to people here, as well as looking for what I hope to be the right one, before deciding to pull the trigger. I appreciate the words of warning though.

As for the RB chin spoiler, (I'm not trying to sound like an ***), but is it customary for them to continue advertising discontinued products? So far I've never purchased anything from them, just thought about it..

I thought you meant the front air dam in this photo: http://www.rotorsportsracing.com/ima...beat/67105.jpg

There aren't many cars with that piece and I prefer it to the chin spoiler which looks less aggressive than an R1 lip. The R1 lip is even cheaper by almost $50. You can check with this site if they still sell the front air dam: http://www.rotorsportsracing.com/per...g/exterior.htm

I guess I feel the R1 lip sometimes looks too aggressive for FD's that are otherwise nearly stock in appearance - or at least 93-95's, which is why I'm also a tad interested in the piece pictured. I made a thread for this question a few weeks ago and didn't get any helpful replies. Are there still sites that specialize in selling used, factory FD parts? I've ran into a few in the past but cannot seem to find them these days. As always, thanks in advance! (and keep the pics coming )

Still interested in finding sites that specialize in selling used FD parts, if anybody knows any. I know I've run into a few over the last couple years, but can't seem to find them now..
