Wire deck's amp output to speaker?

You know the outputs in the back of the deck thats designed for hooking up an amp and sub to it? Well can I just run those straight to some speakers?

No. Those are "line level" outputs, which means they are generating about 1V or so into a high impedance load (amp input). This requires very little current.

Speakers need to see "speaker level" signals of several volts, and because they are low impedance, will require much higher current levels. Which is what an amplifier is for.

EDIT: The deck you have only has line level outputs and not speaker level outputs?
