To wing or not to wing that is the question...
I have a nice FEED type II Cf but I do love the low stock, clean cut wingless look. What is your take?
Here's a recent shot of my FD...

all depends of wat you like, in certain circumstances fd can look real nice and sleek with no spoiler. but in others situations like with one thats heavily "kit'ed" the car almost needs one to look normal.
remember this is only my opinion, here are a few picts to desribe wat i mean

No wing! But if it's nice...
Well, I don't have one and I don't plan on one.
My reasoning is that the rear of the FD, when you look at it from behind the car, looks very nice and muscular, since you can appreciate the large somewhat horizontal sides revealed and accentuated by the bubble glass narrowing in. It is just so nicely shaped and so well thought and calibrated...
If you place a wing in the back, any wing, I feel it takes away from that.
The lines are also much cleaner without the wing when you look at the car from the side.
Having said all this, if I could find a wing that doesn't take away from the rear view and flows well with the side view of the car, I'd probably love to have one.
...Makes sense?
Probably not...

Well, I don't plan on flying my car anytime soon, so I don't need a wing at the moment.
I like the wingless look better, but if I ever do go with one, either stock or 99 spec is the only 2 I would even begin to consider.

I really like the no wing look but when I did it on mine it just did not look right, looks really good on a darker colored FD but on white it just did not look good to me.
I have not tried it since I put the kit on, maybe it might look better when I take my table top off now since I have the kit....lol...

Yes, Ordering FEED sides & Fenders (front only) and hopefully a diffuser. Rim's will have to wait for a bit. Hopefully this weekend I can throw in my springs.
It all depends on how you modify the rest of the car. Keep in mind the stock body lines that make the car what it is and compliment them. From your pics, I'd leave it wingless. Add a C-west, ReAmemiya, or other kit with straight lines then I'd say go with a wing also with straight lines. Add a sleek kit such as Feed or Burnout, and you could get away with no wing because the stock shape of the hatch flows. I went with a Feed carbon fiber hood and sideskirts. To bring some c.f. to the rear for balance I went with the Feed adjustable spoiler. The wider Feed spoiler compliments the Feed widebody fenders I chose as well. It's your car put on it what makes you happy regardless of what others have done.

I'm not throwing on a front kit, I Plan on keeping the stock 93 oem front with those kouki's and maybe mold a carbon 93 lip. I'm only changing out the fenders and hood for an N1 CF painted except the louviers.
My goal ~
Rims ~ probably 5 zigen fn's in hyper black or silver
Feed skirts
Feed fenders
Amemiya N1 hood
Amemiya street diffuser
Custom carbon accents with what ever I decide to mold ~ 93 lip etc.

If you run a rear wheel with a big lip the wingless look good. If you run stock wheels or aftermarket without a big lip it just doesnt look right to me. Of course everyones opinion is different.

I agree, Rim's are a must I just don't know some good one's. The only one's that intrest me are TE37, CE28, Fn01Rc (price is an issue) and maybe Gram light pro's.
I say keep the stock body lines. To me, the car is already very sleek and sporty. Body kits just make it look bloated, and throw the lines of the car off.
But if you decide to go with a body kit or wing, please get the stance of the car right first..... Nothing looks worse than a FD with a body kit on stock wheels and springs.

Touch choice but it all depends on your set up. Some cars look unbalanced without a wing.
A couple of years back I bought a replica 99 spec wing with a CF center. About a month ago I finally got it installed and right before painting my whole car, I decided I did not want it anymore. I opted for a more mature serious look.
So for my car and set up wingless was the way to go.
perfect solution
