Who thinks stock look FD is better than Widebody kit?

Lately I've been looking at pictures of widebody kit for our FD. The more I look at them, the more I hate them. It just ruins the nice lines of the FD and out of place although they look nice from some angle.

So who else here thinks that stock FD (non widebody/non overfender) look heaps better than any widebody kit out there in the market?

The car soesn't need all that crap. It's a beautiful light weight sports car to begin with.
I don't really like the pop up headlights because they just look like air brakes to me, but I'll probably keep them anyway.

i like anything that looks clean, including stock, 99 spec, some re amemiya kits, mazdaspeed, etc. i cant really say that any one body style is better than another, more of it depends on how the kit itself looks.

I like the way it came from the factory, except the wheels and ride height.

i like the mazdaspeed GTC kit best, much more area open in the front to get air to your rad/ic/oil cooler(s). 99 spec over stock 93-95. not a fan of widebody, but flares in the back to allow you tires that are more capable of putting the power down (read Pettit 20B conversion) are cool. form follows function in my book

I hate to throw this steretype in, but this is my own personal opinion: I think the majority of us on this board that are 25+ like the stock exterior, or at least a very close (and clean) variant of it. I for one love the stock look, and other than a set of rims, I would probably never change it.

I really think it depends on the kit. The FEED widebody is pretty faithful to the original lines. For me, it's either that kit or the RE-Amemiya AD GT widebody (not to be confused with the RE-A 2002 GT widebody Rotary Extreme is selling). Everything else is just blah...Although I've seen Harrison's car in person with the Kazaam (?) widebody and it does look pretty bad *** in person. He's in this month's import tuner as well (Skyline GTR on the cover).

yeah Harrison's widebody kit does look nice, but I still think, IMO, the FD looks better in her birthday suit The only "widebody kit" I'd ever consider would be Burnout's.

Anyone else only considering a widebody kit so they can fit larger tires? I love the FD, and whatever you dress her in, she's beautiful, save for a few really obnoxious bodykits.

Anyone know where to get the burnout body kit? I've seen the website but I havent seen it for sale anywhere...

I think that new FD owners & non-FD owners initially like the widebody kit, gigantic turbo, bling-bling 19" rims, etc; after several months-1 yr of ownership, the stock look starts becoming more appealing.
I think after the first several months of ownership, I realized that even in stock form the FD gets tons of attention (from admirers, daters, would-be thieves, & cops alike).
Subtle is the best!

Agreed. I've owned an FD for about a year and a half now and in those first 6 months I was really looking at bodykits but now the stock lines have really grown on me and all I want to do is get a 99spec front and some OEM sideskirts. The car is definately beautiful as is. The KS-Auto Burnout kit is my favorite widebody though.

Hey guys, since we're on the subject, do you think the burnout FD above would look good with Apexi Side skirts? Last week I ordered the front bumper, front fenders and rear flares, but wasn't really convinced on the sides skirts, I think they're just too square. Anybody agree...?

There are maybe one or two exceptions to the OEM that I would go with. The 95GT RE Amemiya is one of them. The Burnout kit looks good but the idiots at KS auto painted the car black. There is a reason so few cars are featured in magazines are painted black. It is hard to photograph them to show all of the lines the kit has.

^ wow, you actually got the kit? I would probably contact a shop and try to make copies of it because you know people on here are going to be interested in getting a group buy going. Anways.... I am not a fan of sideskirts, the only ones I like are the OEM ones that RX7RAGE has, and that's like the only FD I've ever seen with those.

Yeah I know what you mean, I ended up lightening up the pics and staring at the pictures for a couple weeks before I jumped on them. But they do have a white FD with everything except the fenders on their website though.

Oh, hell yes!!!!! That is by far the best kit i've ever seen!!!!!!!!!! I've never been seriously tempted until now. I've seen one other before that I liked better than the rest, but this burnout one is gorgeous!

As for rear spoilers on FDs.... I prefer the look better without one. I know there are many who do prefer the spoiler look. Are spoilers necessary? With a lowered ride and a good front air dam, my rear doesn't start to feel light until around 170mph.

let me know what you think.
