If you have the power next to the RCA's then you'll probably get interference in your audio signal from the power and most likely you'll get alternator whine. I try to keep the two far apart from each other (like running power on the drivers side and RCA's through the middle) so that there's very little chance of interference.

I have always had my rca and power wires right next to each other and never gotten any interferance, like alternator whine but at times it does sound muffled, will that be a side effect too?

I've never heard of power/RCA interference causing muffling although anything is possible. Generally I stay away from the whole power/RCA issue by keeping them as far apart as possible. As claytonjh1223 said under the door sills on the drivers side usually works pretty well, thats what I did. As far as gettin through the firewall you can either find a grommet that you can cut or in the case of my old car I was able to run the wire through the fender well and through another access hole there. I'll be trying the same on my FC but I haven't had a chance to look and see whether it'll be possible or not.

lol, engine noise with bov! lol

just run them on oppsite sides. power - driver/rca - passenge.

im kinda of skeptic about running it under the center console due to the gauge wire ur rinning, replacing the center console properly might be a problem. But i dont know anything bout 87 so? i dont think you want ur wires hanging out or center console lop sided cuz tha 12v was too fat. Oh and as far as the ground u dont really need to run 4ga.
