Where to pick-up the speed-pulse signal in 3rd gen ?

 

The speedometer sensor is located is located in the gearbox (drivers side). The connector is labelled C-08 in the wiring diagrams. It has two wires (green and orange) going into the emission harness. In connector X-16 (under the dashboard above your passengers feet) they go into the dash harness and change color: the green one becomes yellow/red and the orange one yellow/white.
In connector X-17 (behind driver's side kick panel) they go into the instrument harness and finally in terminals 3C and 3A into the instrument cluster unit.

As you can see, you'll plenty of places to pick up that signal.
