Where to find aftermarket hoods?

I have seen a couple of sites that have aftermarket hoods but don't have pictures. what is the point if you can't see what you are buying? Can someone post a link or a couple for hoods with scoops, cowl style hoods with scoops, any kind of hood. I have been looking at a 94 RX-7 with 56k miles and want to change some things. Help me out here.

Where have you been, under a rock?

Try using the search option:

https://www.rx7club.com/forum/search.php

Use keywords like: body kit hood

You should also try going to vender sites:

Actually i have been living in a different world. Trying to live out my childhood dream. Owning a fast camaro. I have lived out my dream with my 86 Z28 550+ RWHP high 11's in the 1/4. Now I want a RX-7 and want to do that car up. Thanks for the help. I can never find what I want on the search in any forum i go to. That is why I ask and people like you help. Thanks

BTW, if you find a picture of an RX-7 that has a kit or some parts on it you like but don't know who the manufacturer is.... just post the picture or a link to it here and ask "who makes this"...

Someone will know who makes the kit and/or where to get it.

Just start searching, there are quite a few different hoods, spoilers, side skirts, etc, that are available.

After reading the new issue of Turbo magazine I fell in love with the Pettit Wide Body on the RX-7. the only thing I don't like about that car is The headlight covers go all the way into the front bumper. Does anyone know how much the Wide Body kit from Pettit is?

Pettit doesn't have a wide-body "kit" to my knowledge.. They only make rear fender flares.. And those are about $300.00 a pair..

I'm not sure about the Pettit Rear Flares, just call them, they are always helpful.

However, I would suggest that you look at everything that there is to offer first. I've changed my mind so many times about what I want kind of look I want, that I'm very glad I didn't purchase my first idea..

DO you think it is a good idea to mix like a differnet nose shide skirts and rear from different companys. I noticed most have kind of the same lines but amybe some you could get away with.

Yeah mixing and matching is fine. As long as it's done with taste. Tons of people do it. I do believe the pettit flares do require you to cut the rear quarter panel and then put on the flare. I don't see how'd you have the extra room for a bigger wheel and tire any other way. But call pettit just to make sure, you'll have to call them if you want to order them anyways.

you can also choose to either have them molded onto the body like Pettit did or you can slap em on like this. Still look great either way

^ thats legendrx7's car so any and all questions go to him

the pettit molded one is attached

and then RedR1 posts his favorite flared treatment. Lengends' car looks badassed, but i love the way MazdaSpeeds flares sorta meld with the skirts. heres my fave pic of the Mazdaspeed kit.

Sad part is, each day when i get off work, late at night, i see more and more pix of FD's with the GT-C front end, and it saddens me. I have the skirts and flares in my garage. I am going to try to get the border fenders, then the hard part. . . . . .the front end. I've been thinking of many different ones, but here are my finalists:

Odula front end
Mazdaspeed GT-C
C-west

I know the 2nd 2 are done to death, but u cant deny that they look mighty nice, especially with the Mazdaspeed sides/flare (only thing is i hate to be a trend follower)

or should i just say screw it and just go with the entire MazdaSpeed kit? decisions suck *** dont they?

I don't want to sound like a moron but what does "FD" stand for? I have tried to figure it out and can't and search won't let me look up 2 leters. I am really liking the fender flares both by Mazdaspeed and Pettit. More on the Pettit side but the Mazdaspeed blends nice with the side skirts. What kind of front end doesn't hang to low? I live near a bunch of speed bumps and wouldn't want to mess the nose up? I was thinking about one of the many half front wings but not sure how they go on or the 99 J-spec.

It's part of the chassis code for the 3rd Generation RX-7's. FC is for the 2nd Gen, and there are others for the 1st Gen as well..

so its kind of like different generation call letters or specific types in the generation. like corvettes have C!-C5 now c representing the Corvette and # for the generation. Then in the C5 they have FRC which is fixed roof coupe for 99-00 then from 01-02 there is the Z06 which took the FRC's place. same car more HP in the Z06. I kind of figured it was something that had to do witht eh generation. are there different body styles for the FD or is it just all the same.

Yeah FD and C5 are kinda being used the same way. There is only one body style for the FD, they were only made from 93-95 and were all twin turbo. In fact you'll hear hardly anyone call a 3rd gen rx7 a "3rd gen" most of us use "FD" because it's shorter.

*edit* I said they were only made from 93-95, but I mean't over here in the U.S. They were made from 92-02 over in Japan. Japan usually see's their new redesigned cars a year before we do.
