I need new black floormats for my FD. Anybody know where I might find some?

I appreciate any help I receive. Thanks!

You can always just bring in your old one to a 'custom interior' auto shop, and they can prob sew one that will fit pretty close

You can get better than OEM-quality mats from MazdaTrix (www.mazdatrix.com) for only $50. The only negative is that they don't have the RX-7 logo embroidered on them.

Thanks guys

I'll probably go with the Mazdatrix ones...I'm thinking about taking them to a custom embroidery shop and having silver rotors sewn into them. Just a thought

who really cares about the RX-7 logo. I mean it doesn't make the car any faster. And it only gets dirty. My thoughts - don't worry 'bout it!

I have the Mazdatrix units, they do fit great, but as you have noticed, they aren't embroidered. They will make for good templates when I decide to make my own.
One note on the Mtrix units, I've worn a hole in the carpet portion with my right heel, not sure why, maybe sub-par carpet or backing, don't know. If and when I were to make a new set I'd sew on a sacrificial "heel plate", whether it's a carpet piece or a vinyl piece. Just a thought for you.

Regards,
Frank

I've also worn some of the carpet off the Mazdatrix mats as well (over almost 2 years). However, I ordered 2 sets when I placed my order so it's not a huge deal to me.

I ordered the maztrix mats today. Thanks guys. I'm not too worried about them (or the RX-7 logo). For $50.00, I can replace them when they get worn out...I'll probably order another custom emroidered set just for shows though.

Thats a fantastic Idea.

Btw, I restored my Mats to OEM Spec. I painted them with Black carpet spray and meticulously painted the embroidery over with concentrated Artist Colour Medium Viscosity Acrylic Titanium White paint with a fine thin brush. I wish I had a pic handy though.

Occam's Razor is the principle of using the fewest assumptions to explain something. In other words, if there are multiple possible solutions or reasons for something, you work with the simplest one.

Now there's **** you don't get on the honda forums....

So...by utilizing that principle, you could have just said "silver paint and a little brush."

Pragmaticism...you gotta love it.

BTW...before you tell me that I took that out of context--I know. You're right though...if this were the Honda forums it would have read something like:

"Dats a way to explane how sh*$ werks with a kwikness. So we don't git all f*&#ed in the head yo! Bling Bling!"

I heard that TriPoint was selling FD mats. Someone said that they started selling them just a week ago or something.
