Where to buy FD interior stuff

Where are some places that sell interior pieces for the FD? New, used, custom, whatever.

I am considering changing over from tan to black. So everything except seats. I will just go aftermarket on those.

Good luck!

You'd be better off looking for a wrecked or parted out car to get full interior pieces rather than order new ones. New ones, if you can get the part/color you want, will most likely be extremely expensive.

You might also think about painting the interior as an option. Several people have used vinyl paint with quite a bit of success.

I hope you'r very well off if you are buying new interior peices.
I called them for a price quote on ONLY driver & passanger door panels, in black. $1,236- EACH.

So they want over $2,400 for two black door panels, and then they are going to charge you shipping.

Mazda is really proud of those parts.

I don't know why. Every material they used is a piece of ****.

My 12 year-old Civic has held up better than my 30k+ FD.

Well, if he has a 94 or 95 the only tan in the car is the seats and the carpet. Even the seatbelts are black. So just switch out the seats, carpet, and floor mats. Done.

If he has a 93, then it will be a headache.

Cheers,
Joseph

He could just paint the interior unless they are in really really bad condition.

Its a 93 and the interior is in great condition. I have heard mixed reviews about painting the pieces and dont want it to look like sh*t.

The vinyl painting is fine. It's painting the carpet that just doesn't work good.

A warning on vinyl paint/dye. It's just my personal opinion, but vinyl paint is the last thing you would ever want to do to an interior piece on any car worth more than $1000. I've had a good deal of experience with it (both painting it and trying to removing it). You can spend as much time as you want preparing it, but it still comes out an inferior product. If it gets any kind of wear, rubbing or scratching, it WILL wear/peel/scratch off and show the base color. It works best on vinyl, but still wears off quickly. It’s okay if you paint something exactly the same color to correct sun bleaching, but only look at it as a temporary solution. Forget it on carpet or plastic. Some people swear by it, but I have a feeling that those people don’t actually drive their cars much. I would put it on the same level as rattle-canning your exterior.

Just my $0.02. You can try to convince me or anyone else otherwise, but I would go for the new panels.

Doug

Why not ask someone who has done it:

Zerobanger did his interior a while ago. Ask him how it's holding up.
