thats a tough call as everyone has a different sound they are looking for. If you want volume and punch you go one way...if you want warmth and imaging go another way. I like the mbquart z series for tehno and heavy metal...and an alpine set for everything else. The alpine is 1/3 the price of the mb quarts but is separates with individual crossovers and amps making for a tougher install. Plus there were too deep to go into the door without a lot of custom fab work...so in the end the quart were cheaper.

Best bet is to go to a good stereo store with the music you like to listen to and have them punch it up or you so you can listen to it through a lot of different speakers.

...dont let them mess with ya though.....even crappy speakers sound good through a $5k amp. Have them punch up a system similar to your current set up. If you have a stock bose system then you'll want to listen to the speakers straight out of a high powered head...like an alpine. A great speaker without the right amp makes for a crappy speaker lol GL

IMO
MB Quarts. Nice crisp and clear. Lack a little bass though.
JL Audio Components. Also crisp clear and have a bit more bass
Memphis Audio Very very nice, but you get what you pay for. The 5 1/4"'s I looked at were almost 500 bucks
I personally went with the JL's just like the all around sound of them.
