We just finished removing all the tar mess that was underneath the carpets. Its nice and clean but we aren't sure what to coat the surface with. There isn't any rust and we would like to keep it that way.
Any ideas?

If it had been orig posted here I would have given a different answer, like using Epoxy Primer under the carpet w/ some DynaMat for sound deadening.

It is in the correct section. Its a Race Car. It looks like we are going to take both suggestions and do a white primer base coat everywhere and use the bedliner for the foot wells. Thanks for the input.
Just FYI. A buddy of mine painted his interior white on his race car. He says it was a big mistake. It gets really dirty and is very hard to clean. Lots of nooks and cranies.
My other friend painted his a dark grey and it always looks good.
Mine will be sprayed at the same time the exterior will be so to save money I'm having it done all the same color. It's almost a Cobalt blue. I'm spraying the engine bay, exterior and interior all at the same time. with the car being striped down to a bare shell this should be an easy paint job.
Good luck,
Mike
