what speakers?
what size speakers are they in the car? I'm getting mixed options from online shopping, some say front are 5 1/4 others say 6 1/2. some say back is 6 x8 and others say 5 x7....can I get a little feedback as to what you all run and what kinda systems you have setup? I'm trying to make some purchases.

I have 6" x 8" 3-ways in the back and 6 1/2" component speakers in the doors. They both fit fine. I would recommend the component speakers with the separate small tweeters to put up high because the sound is so mushy from the door speakers projecting on to the seats. I also don't like the majority of the sound coming from behind me. I also have a small bazooka sub tube in the hatch area and drive it all with a 500W amp. This is a relatively low dollar set up and it sounds great to me. Shop around for your pieces; my son used to work at a big name electronics store and got stuff at cost. You wouldn't believe the mark up on car stereo components.

Diamond Audios Hex is shallow depth but very expensive. You can hook up the rears to the fronts xover with it's "rear acoustic fill" output and runn all the speakers from two channels. The rears will only use about 20% of the power. Eclipse point source is perfect for that. You will need an adapter bracket/plate to install the 6.5's in the rears to the 5x7/6x8 oem brackets.

4" fits up front in the Bose box without modification.
5.25" Diamond Audio fits depth wise but you will need to open the hole diameter.
6.5" You should replace the Bose box and do a custom install.
You can do a 3-way Diamond audio setup with the 4" & tweets up front and the 6" woofs in the rear. If you don't like that sound, then you can do 2-way Diamonds up front and power the rears from the x-over's RAF. Eclipse 6.5" point source works well for that or a 5x7 plate. The nice thing about the point source and the plates is that the x-over's are built in and no need to find a place to mount as well as the tweets being attached.

not all speakers are created equal.
usually the nicer 6"s will have deep drivers and will not fit.
in this case u may have to go with the 5"s.
i dont recommend 6x8's or 5x7s in the rear. a 6 1/2 will fit fine with minor drilling of the speaker mount.
