Question: How do you paint the plastic lip and have it last? Wouldn't the paint flake off the plastic?

I love the look but have struggled with this.

 

I had that look minus the sideskirts. This is what my car looks like now. I have a painted 99spec lip now, but used to have a painted R1 as well.

If you want pics of the painted R1 lip and Type 2 wing, feel free to pm me.

 

IMO, paint durability on these lips is out of the question. Even w/ a flex additive and being as careful as you can be, you're still going to scrub somewhere (steep driveways, parking berms, etc.), and take off some paint.

 

After two years I have some stone chips on it, but nothing major.

I love it so much. it keeps a stock look but adds a little flair. thanks for the pics.

 

Still have the question: how did you paint it? did you take it to a paint shop or do it yourself? with what was it painted?
