As anyone got any ideas what comp seats fit? The seats i have in mine are to high (Rage) i am looking to buy some quality comp seats which will sit has low as the standard seats, Any ideas? What are you using?

There are quite a few seats that fit. However, brackets are the other problem. There are only a few that have FD3S specific brackets. While you can fit quite a few seats into the car, you'll have to spend some extra effort to actually install them.

Bride and Recaro make seats that fit as well as FD-specific brackets. Both companies make high quality FIA-approved equipment.

hard to get as low as the stock seat .. since stock seat bottom is fit to drop between rails, however comp seats have less padding so sitting height about same or lower with my setup. Measure for comp seat (if you are really using for comp) by measuring hip width while you lay float on side on hard floor. Wierd, yeah but equal to 1g lateral force on hip structure. Seat is like a helmet, firm fit.

 

I've got a pair of stock black cloth seats w/o rails from my 93 FD available.......only one small tear in driver side bolster.....if anybody's interested.

 

are the brackets that recaro sells the same brackets used in the spirit R?

 

Regular fiberglass Bride seats are not FIA approved. Only the carbon kevlar one is FIA approved.

All Recaro bucket seats are FIA approved, either fiberglass or carbon kevlar. The Recaro SPG and SPA will fit inside the FD. I have test fitted them. The Buddy Club one also fits in the FD.
