I am thinking of repainting my vintage red 3rd gen RX7, does anyone have any pictures of the best looking red they have seen.

Mine's Mitsubishi 3000GT red, which has a little more orange in it and noticeable around sunset. Very attention-getting tho...

A nice deep dark red.

Porsche red is nice.

I have to let my body man know by monday what paint to order and its driving me nuts!!! I dont really want to go with the original vr but if i were to go with something like porsche red or ferarri red will my door jams and engine bay be that noticably different?? I want a red extrememly deep in color and i would like to shy away from the orange/red look. i need help!

Sure is glossy for factory vintage red, Scorpio. Very nice... Was it repainted and buffed out?

 

At the time, I was very strict about the following rules:

1) If the car gets washed, it gets waxed afterwards.
2) No driving in the rain.

Stock paint...fresh wax job...and a good picture while on the scale for a weigh-in (2907 pounds with 1/2 tank gas! :)

I personally like a darker red, like the "Rennisance Red" on the mkiv supras

 

This is blueskaterboy car, its a three stage laser red with a gold metallic flake, IMHO this is the nicest red I think I have ever seen. Reminds me alot of magnetic red from the c5 corvette.

Velocity Red Mica. Its What I Just Painted My Car. I Have To Polish It Though. Imo, This Red Is Absolutly Amazing! Its The Oem Paint. + We Sprayed The Car With 5 Coats Of Pearl, Mazda Only Uses 2. Ill Post Pics When Its Done.

 

Original 12-1/2 year old paint... imagine what it looked like brand new. Same rules as Scorpio, if washed, then waxed. If not, detail sprayed... never sees rain.

 

I think the original VR paint is the best when kept in good condition. Of course, it does help that my car has been garaged the past 6 years.

Ahhh, so many brilliant looking reds. They're all perfect. IMO, i think stock vintage red gets the win. But that SRT-10's red looks outstanding. Good luck picking.

 

Im going with this color once i get my rebuild done...
