What is de-bosing?
I keep reading and seeing all this stuff about de-bosing and how bose speakers are a pain to go away from. What does this mean? why can't you just swap the stock speakers with same size aftermarket ones that are a different brand?

Take your door panel off and look at the speaker and you'll realize in about 3 seconds why you can't do that. Also, the bose speakers are internally amped, and the wiring is too small to really reuse with non-bose speakers (or at least it won't sound very good). So, you see there are a number of things that make it a pain to move away from.
Also, there are literally a million threads on this. People have been running into this issue for almost 25 years now. Search, man.

I did search, but a lot of it was not explained well for someone who had no idea or ever heard of this. All the posts were made assuming the reader already had background knowledge. Also, if I have an r2, its non-bose, so will I still have these problems?

de-bosing is not hard to do. Anyone who has problems de-bosing a car would probably have a hard time engineering their way out of a paper bag.
The bose head unit is actually a passive design and that is why each individual speaker has an amplifier attached to it. Also bose speakers operate at 1Ω instead of the conventional 75Ω. So yes bose speakers are not the same size as conventional speakers. But that is easy to get around... All you do is purchase a new head unit along with new speakers and speaker backets intended for non bose cars and swap everything out. duh. How hard is that? The reason I know this is because my first FD had a bose and it was awesome. My second FD did not come equipped with one so I added it. After modding my car, I realized that I couldn't appreciate the bose anymore and hence I removed it and went back. All very simple stuff.
I love the BOSE system. When working properly in a stock car, it is just beautiful to hear. The problem wth the BOSE system is the owner plain and simple. See many have never heard it as it was intended (on a stock car) and/or have the misconception that the wave tube is a ‘BOOM BOX’.
The Bose system is actually custom designed for its cabin allowing maximum melody to be heard from all of the speakers coming together. Remember who the original target audience was: People with disposable incomes such as lawyers and doctors. Think appreciation for orchestra music rather than thumping hip hop bass. Yes the wave tube thumps pretty good but not if you are into the ‘thump’. Because by those standards it is certainly lacking. Then again, that’s not what it was designed for.
If you have ever experienced a stock FD you know that it is a SAINT when it comes to how quiet it actually is. On the freeway it is so quiet that you can have a very pleasant conversation without shouting as there is minimal road noise or droning from the exhaust. It is in that setting that the driver (and passenger) can only appreciate the very clear, crisp, and differentiation of the highs and lows that the system provides. Stick an exhaust in there and forget it… Throw all of that is out the window. Hence many people just hate it and many refer to the BOSE: No highs no lows, just blows. But in reality that’s their fault and not the system’s.
With that said: No you are not going to have any issues surrounding the bose system because your car does not have one. It’s that simple. Your car should have 5 speakers: One in the center of the dash, two on the doors, and two right behind the seats. Which all of those are of conventional size and operating impedance (75Ω).
