Water coming in from doors (speaker bracket)

I took my car to the car wash today and had some water coming inside from the speaker area. After I got home I took off my door skin and saw that it was coming in from the holes surrounding the speaker bracket. I didn't realize I need to seal this off when I installed these speakers & brackets. I haven't had to do this before so I was hoping from some suggestions. I saw that there are some foam pockets that you can put on the speakers to keep them dry http://www.crutchfield.com/p_237XT65...th.html?tp=660, but am not sure what to do about the gaps around my speaker bracket:

just get some black gasket maker and slap it on thick for the quick fix.

If as much water is coming in as you make it sound I would make sure that the drains in the bottoms of your door don't have anything plugging them off. I would agree just to use some silicone or similiar product to fill the gaps that are there. Also something to protect the speaker wouldn't be a bad idea. Sounds like your on the right track.

It wasn't that much water, maybe 1 cup worth on each side. But I'll definitely check the drains as you suggested.
