lots of people have done it, usually switching to black, check ebay and junk yards for parts. pieces like door panels and headliner can be redone to whatever color you want.

how accurate and safe is this method? For example, I have beige interior parts and if I wanted red interior parts; ur saying I can just paint my vinyl door panels and ceilings? Wouldn't this fade or melt or even scratch in the future?

im not saying paint. im saying the fabric comes off and you replace it. headliners are a snap to do with the fabric at most fabric stores. the door panels are a bit more tricky and you might was to take it to an upolster (spelling) to have it done and look good.

there are people who paint these, but ive never tried that method for fear that it would look like **** or scratch off easily.

no no! hehe first off im talking about a FC. the FCs have cloth headliners where the fabric can be seperated from the hard backing then new material glued back on. on most cars all the headliner is fabric glued to a hard backing, whether it be headliner cloth, vinyl, suede ect. im not sure about FDs (never seen the inside of one in person) but it could also be stretched vinyl like in older cars such as 924Ss, 944s, older mustangs and the like 60s cars.

You can change the color with paint,There is a paint that you can buy that will spray over the vinyl, but you have to make sure the vinal is cleaned really well before you attempt this, also you always need a extra can of paint laying around in case you scratch it.other than that if you maintain it evey six months it will look great.
