VIS 99 wing poly or fg?

well ya.. as the title states, who wants the vis 99 wing in fiberglass and who wants it in polyfiber. take into account polyfiber will be roughly $100 more. this is just to get a idea of which is more wanted.

stronger, I dunno but if it is lighter it cant be more than a couple pounds I would think. It was also brought up on the other thread that maybe having something a little heavier isnt a bad idea since it would handle high speed winds better, just a thought. Not to mention the FG saves me $100, thats the best part, lol.

polyfiber is a fiberglass composite that has the flexibility of urethane.....its not stronger necessarily, but can withstand a hit (which is good for front and rear bumpers...)
weighs prob about the same id guess...its not polyurethane u know...
i duno, id say reg. fiberglass would be better for the $$$, but just my $.02

As far as the group buy is concerned does it really matter what material we want?

Some of us want polyfiber others want fiberglass. But for VIS in order to make the wing they require a few people to ensure that labor is cost productive, that is a given. But in the end after the mold has been made what difference does it really make what material they use? For example: for OneBadRx7's wing grab material out of bin A which contains fiberglass, for montego's wing grab material out of bin B which contains polyfiber. Or maybe there's more to it does anybody know?

i don't mine in FG. If VIS could do 300 for ployfiber, i think more people will go with ployfiber.
I guess ployfiber is not easy to break and it would not break easily alike fiberglass that hard..... I know fiberglass is just really easy to break when purely accident collision (not car accident) because it is so rugged. In the flip side, the ployfiber has a little flexible, so it would not break easy as fiberglass does....

do you guys think of any disadvantage of ployfiber ???

only thing IS price...

Montego makes a good point...
cant we just choose what we want? we need 15 people at least for them to make the mold or whatever, but im assuming once we get them to do taht, then we can pick what we want...

someone (with time) really needs to call monday and get all the details. I MIGHT be able to, ill try to and post all I find out.

Some of the question i think we need to ask to the GB people one more time.

For sure in FG ?
Adjustable ?
Where we could find the mold ?
And the price to the GB people ?

These questions have been answered over and over again in the VIS 99spec wing thread. Not to be a dick or anything, but this is really starting to get tedious.

For sure in FG ?
No one knows yet. It remains to be seen whether VIS is going to go with one or the other (or maybe both).

Adjustable ?
NO!! IT WILL NOT BE ADJUSTABLE.

Where we could find the mold ?
VIS needs a mold so I'm assuming we either need to pool together the money amongst GBers to pay for one or VIS needs to pony up the money to buy one themselves (seeing as how they're going to make a killing on these).

And the price to the GB people ?
-$250 Fiberglass
-$350 Polyfiber

I really see no reason why I should fork over another $100 when fiberglass should hold up well. It's not like we're talking about buying bumpers here.

no idea if this is even possible, but does anyone know if there is any way to make the mounting holes from the VIS 99 replica line up with the factory 93-95 wing? If it is in fact possible for VIS to do this when its being made then it would offer even more incentive for people to buy their wing.

I agree, this is getting redundant. But just to get my vote in again...

I will never but standard fiberglass body parts. I've see WAY too make ugly cracked body kits and I just don't want to mess with that. However, if it was polyfiber I'd buy it in a second.
