VHT Plastic Paint Satin Black

My car has tan interior and I decided to do an all black interior conversion. However, the prices are quite high for black interior parts so I decided to give VHT black plastic paint a shot. I figured the results would look like crap but I was shocked to find out that the results are amazing. My friends who came over to my house saw the back pieces leaned up against the engine hoist and thought that I had purchased black interior parts. They were all blown away

I'm not sure how scratch resistant they are, but I will test that out in a week when it's fully dried. According to VHT, it's scratch resistant. Also, the paint is not too glossy and it matches the dash's black very well. As of right now, I don't have a before and after picture, but I will paint the rear bins tomorrow and get a before and after shot.

Good stuff, considering it's only $9.99 per can and I used 2 cans for the two B pillars.

Looks pretty good, a little dab of overspray, from what I can see it still keeps its original texture. What did you do as far as prep work?

All I did was clean it up with soap to remove the grime. I didn't use any primer on it.

I've been wanting to try this with dye to see how that would go. Might have to look into it.

looks really good, would love to see it when you get the door panels and the rest of it painted black.

There are a couple of different ways of doing it, but I've heard the best is to try the vinyl dye that comes in the spray cans. You can also buy packets of dye and boil the parts in a vat of some sort, but I'm not going to do anything like that.
