Talking Vented Hood Wars

my new vented FG jobbie! brackets lined up perfect put it on myself. Needs finishing then paint. Wary of hood latch assembly as it appears to be held on with JB Weld but hood pins should be here soon anyways. Yes there is some slight fender gappage which I can fix but on a black car BFD it just not that much to stress over.

I safety wired my AST cap and I want to add screen mesh under the large hood vents to keep hands out. If can't source the dang window squirters I will just get some grand auto nozzles and tubing.

My gal hates it but I like this hood alot and it's my freaking car. Looks pretty simple to mod later too if I ever go upgraded SMIC. Yeah baby, can't wait to finish it and get it painted!

p.s. it's funny to watch people nail the brakes on the highway thinking a CHP is coming up from behind. now all I need is one of those radio shack radar guns

the hood cost me (don't cry now) all of 250 bux right here on the forum!
it does need finishing but that's a deal right?
should work with any IC but must be willing to cut / modify the vent sections that hang down in case they hit. for me that's no problem, stock IC still plus have dremel will do it :P

oh yeah forgot to mention, with vented hood any engine sounds clearly sound off. my BOV is open and hear it all the time like part throttle venting "shhhhhhhhhh" (then silent on throttle) "PSSSSHHHHH!" (shift) On hard runs it's more like "THSSHH!" a big quick blast.

World's fastest steam iron, freaks people out.

PM sent.

Hood primer black now.

Where should I put the hood pins- by the front of the nose or back behind the headlights?

I'm gonna put mine behind the headlights, seems like they would do the most good there
