using JDM stereo in america- how?

i recently purchased a JDM rx-7, which has a japanese radio in it of course. lo and behold it doesnt seem to pick up any radio stations. the CD player works fine though so i know its not entirely busted. is the radio just incompatible, or is there some adapter or something i can get to use it with US radio? any info appreciated, thx.

I think they work on different frequencies altogether... the radio is basically crap over here.

Yup, the frequencies don't match up. You need a
frequency converter.

You can find such an item in Ebay also. Should be somewhat cheaper.
