underbody rust... Is this car worth $800

Hello all I am new, name is BJ hopefully soon to own a 2nd gen rx7. Currently own a 90 240sx with ca18det, and an accord...

With that said and done.

There is an 88 glx n/a (104,xxx miles) w/ lsd, with electric fan and aluminum radiator. The problem is the underboy seems really rusted (sorry for the lack of description). I have not had a chance to take a good look at it yet, forgot my jack.
From what have seen so far its not too good, but there is no discoloration of the interior carpet allowing me to believe it is not rusted throguh yet...

On the passenger side of the underbody are bends in the frame where someone had jacked the car up, also the winshield is cracked (about 20 inches across), and the exhaust is cut after the cat. With that said the car drives fine, motor runs strong.

The person is selling it for $800. (Im shooting for 700$). It currently is his daily driver.

My question is would I be buying complete junk, or is it worth it for a car only needed for about 1 to 2 year of daily driving for my girlfriend, and occasional autoxing for me. Mind you It has to pass inspection in 6 months.

When i look at it again i should be able to get pics of the underbody.
(or someone could just offer me a better conditioned 88 for around $1000 )

Rust seems pretty common for our beloved vehicles in the Northeast, especially underneath. Damn cancer pops up everywhere. Depending on how severe it is, it may be easily repairable. I know mine isn't, and mine is only in a couple places. Good luck with the decision and look forward to seeing you on here more often.
