Turbo Timer wiring question

My turbo timer has to wire up to 12v(on) and 12v (ignition). Do I have to wire these right into the ignition harness or can I use my stereo wiring harness. The stereo is out but the harness is all ready and the turbo timer is going in right below it. It would save me a lot of hassle if I didn't have to wire it into the actual ignition harness (pain in the ***). With the stereo harness I can solder it on my desk and then just plug it in.

(edit: stereo IS out...)

Your stereo wires do not have ignition in them. Only accessory. Plus the constant at the stereo is only 20 Amps max, while you will need 30 amps to power the ignition circuit.

It is very very easy to get to the ignition wires, much easier than to the radio wires.

Drop the lower column cover and trim panel under the steering column. All the wires you need will be readly accessible.

Do turbo timers come with instructions? I am getting mine tomorrow and am not sure I will be able to install it. Is it hard at all? I have a few friends that installed theirs but on different cars just wondering if its all that hard on TIIs. Thanks.

damn - no power!

red wire to ignition - black /w stripe
yellow wire to battery 12v - black
black wire to ground
grey wire to parking brake

blue (acc) and white (coil ?) not connected

my stereo works fine and shares a ground with the turbo timer. when the car is on, I get no power to the timer. is there anything anyone can see thats obviously wrong?

its a levoc model 73 I think.

if you ordered the apexi or greddy there are writeups online. this is a levoc and I can't find anything except NZConvertible who seems to have lost his instructions (which were in Japanese anyway)
