Tube or Box?
I did a search and found threads with both types but none with what to use for best sound.
I am currently planning a system based around the alpine DVA-7996 head unit with the TME-M790 indash monitor and PXA-H700 processing unit. for Bass i am using an earthquake powerhouse D2 its their 2000W amp. and for subs i am leaning towads the earthquake magma ***** 12's if not their highest quality 10's. My question is In my 88 GXL FC should i opt for a tube, sealed box, or tuned ported box? and 1 sub or 2? for best sounding bass. and if box can i place the boxes on the side of the trunk. 1 speaker per box. side note if i have trunk action(trunk vibration) what can i do to help stop i? (where to dynamat?)

Well, if sound quality is what your looking for, then you don't really want to go with a ported or bandpass box. Sealed tends to give the best. You can place the box almost anywhere so long as the box you make has the correct air space that the sub needs. i don't know much about where the noise problems of a second gen are, but in third gen's they tend to have vibration in the doors and around the plastic bin area. I don't know, a 2000w amp might be too much for two 12's, you can get a cheaper and amp and spend more on speakers and subs.
