transmission shifter ideas
howdy!
just picked up an 89 vert and its got a sloppy shifter so i was either going to just replace the worn bushings or perhaps go the short shifter route. ive already done the short throw from atkins on my 87 coupe and im not sure if its the T2 transmission or the shifter but its pretty darn tough to shift. im looking for advice on looks, function, whatever you guys think could influince my decision. i might be street porting someday in the future, but for now its gonna stay stock bumper to bumper minus the mufflers and catalytic converter delete.
so in a nutshell, what shifters are you using in your s5 N/A? how do you like it? recommend it? stock or aftermarket? its a convertable so im not looking to bang the gears like i am in the coupe, but im def open to the short shifter. cost is always an issue but whatever....

I've used several short shifters on my 87 turbo 2 and have only found the mazdatrix shifter to be smooth and precise. Usually with our cars you get one or the other. The Mazdatrix shifter has a firm but easy feel to it and almost makeshift want to find a curvy mountain backroad.
