Question Time for new seats in my FD

I am buying new seats for my '93 R1 and I'm trying to decide which ones to get. As of now, I was thinking of getting the Corbeau Forza's with optional lumbar support. I started hearing about Bride's quality and comfort and also Recaro. I am looking to find all of their seat options and feedback for those two companies. Feedback/comments about the Forza's from personal experience would be nice also. I am now thinking of getting the Bride Zeta III's. Please let me know all of your opinions on Bride's, Recaro's, and Corbeau Forza's.
Criteria is:
1) 5-Point Harness Capability.
2) They fit in the car.
3) Non-adjustable.

I would appreciate pictures, where I can buy them from and personal write-ups.
Thanks a lot everyone,

Craig

BTW I need your help as soon as possible b/c I will be w/o seats within the next week.

IMO, the recaro spg's look the best in the car. They have 5 point harness capability, they are one of the aftermarket seats that fit in the FD, but they arent adjustable.

The Forzas are some cheap-*** seats. They are FIA homologated, so they are safe to use for racing, but they are covered in a cheap-*** looking vinyl and have little padding. I would never consider them for a daily driver. They were also too wide through the hips to be supportive for me.

If those issues don't bother you, they are cheap and have FD-specific brackets!

I have sat in the Recaro SPGs and they are simply awesome. But then again, they cost $500 more than the Forza (each) too.

i'm getting sparco torino2's

5point is useless in our cars based on your riding stance, you need 4 pt....no need for a crotch restraint unless you are sitting at a certain angle

Depending on what he plans to do, 4pt harnesses are not legal for some events.

In the same boat here, eye balling differnt seats.

1. I like to have 5 point harness to prevent submarining, lap belt going into the stomach. Is there a reason why 5 point is not needed, the price differnce between 5 point and 4 point is minimal.

2. what is everyone using for the crutch belt mounting in a 5point? I'm thinking of getting a metal bar to mount across the front seat floor mount, and have an attachment point in the middle.

3. what kind of floor mount is everyone using? I like to have a slider but I don't want to sit higher than stock height, preferably lower.

4. Any seat in particular have fitment problems in FD? Rubbing the interior pieces for example.

Btw, I believe corbreau lost their FIA rating, check out the latest FIA approved list. Most of the corbreau seats are crossed out in red.

There is a 10mm opening for the floormat holder (on both sides.. the carpet covers the one on the passenger side). You can use that. It's not as strong as the other locations but many people (including me) have used it for years without a problem.

you can also contact jt-imports about sliding seat rails..... i've got the spg's and am just waiting to get my rails to install them. they are "super low down" seat rails, so they don't sit higher than the stock ones, and should sit lower. Recaro Japan also makes seat rails, but for some reason Recaro USA doesn't sell them.

i'll try and post some pics of the seats once i get them in.

What's your budget for your seat project? That will determine your options.....

Looks like it should fit. The dimensions appear to be slightly smaller than the Sparco Torinos which people have fit into FD's. Mount brackets will be the big issue with them (and you are aware those aren't real Mazdaspeed seats right?).

Yeah, those aren't real...this has been discussed in many other threads. Please do not hi-jack my thread. Thanks.

Also, Mahjik...I'm looking to spend up to $1000 per seat (including shipping and seat rails/sliders).

The main problem is going to be mounting them. Corbeau is the only company I can think of that now has rails for their seats specifically for the FD. With other seat, you'll probably need to make adapter plates or something to bolt them onto.
not exactly (no offense)

bride makes rails for the FD also

heres my Artis 2's in my FD

and they are forsale pm me if interested

Hey rotoboy661, thos seats look awesome. The contrast of black and red looks great with the red front and rear seats, black harnesses, and black console. It all looks great. And the RX8 shift **** looks awesome too. Are your seats backs FRP or carbon fiber?

Sorry, read that too fast...seemed like we were going to get started on a whole, "that seat rubs..." thread. I also asked for non-adjustable seats though, so it wouldn't be an option...
