Red face Those of you with a RE Amemiya FD3S Street Diffuser

I just ordered the Fiberglass one from Shine. Are you guys painting them or just mounting them as they come?

I don't have one yet, but when I get it I was considering coating it with truck bed liner, or Rhino liner.

I was going to do the same but wanted to know what everyone else was doing first.

I used duplicolor truck bed lining. Its cheap, looks much better, but it dosent stick THAT well. Use it with adhesive enhancer.

How was the fittment btw? I have small gaps by the rear reflectors that I can align perfectly

Doesnt it come just gel coated when you buy it? Id think youd want some beefier protection on it...

Anyone pulled one of these off after it being installed for awhile? I have a brand new set of 99 spec tails, and would hate to F'em up with the 3m tape.

We're talking about the diffuser which mounts underneath the car.

I have the Shine replica. I left it as is. 2-3 years later it still looks great. Just hose down with some water when washing and its all good.

I left mine as it came - After a year of use it was showing chips etc, so I would recommend something like Dan is suggesting .

Mines off the car at the moment - Not happy with the fitment.

Just got and installed/fitted mine. It's a little bit of a pain but hot her done.

yeah the fitment on the sides are a little.. bulging... and then at one point right above the exhaust hanger it extends further than i would have liked. those are minor problems...

i think the rear mud guards and a little bit of dremel will help.

Hmmm i didn't even think of spraying something on... maybe i should take mine off and do that.

I followed the instructions in post #2 of this thread. Worked very well.

Using the stock mounting holes it leaves large gaps at either end.

If you're willing to make new holes in your bumper you can resolve most of the fitment issues. I'm only dropping this diffuser as I have FEED rear arches. Meaning they would be irremovable if I left it when the arches were fitted.

Does that stock looking diffuser need to be removed to mount this?
