AL For those who have 1999+ OEM sideskirts

Hello everyone, I just picked up a used set of oem sideskirts and looking for some advice on how to remove the old paint from the rubber like material. I tried posting the int/ext section but did not get the info I was looking for. Can someone tell me what I can use to remove the paint without damaging the skirts. Also, what kind of flexible paint did you bodyman use paint the skirts with? Any help would be highly appreciated, thanks...

Any reputable shop should know to add flex agent to the paint when painting plastic parts. They should also to the prep work for you, that way to don't end up screwing them up. I've seen case where it cost people more money than it originally would have because they decided to try to save money by doing prep work themselves.

If you don't want to mess with them, I'll take the skirts off your hands.

My body man painted my car 2 years ago. He is a very good painter and doesnt do anything halfass. I only wanted to help take some of the old paint off to help cut the cost. I dont know of any bodyshop that would paint over someone elses preping. I was quoted $700 to have them painted, which half of that was for removing the old paint. These things are far from plastic or fiberglass. There made out of a heavy foamish rubber. If you ask me, it was poor decision by mazda. Flex agent is made for painting bumpers and such, not rubber. If you seen the material of "THE OEM SIDESKIRTS" in person then you would see where im coming from. The only reason I asked is becuase he told me that he had never painted anything as flimsy as these sideskirts.
