Cool Those with feed sideskirts... question about mounting.

It's probably been asked a million times, so sorry.

I see alot of you are using self tapping screws. Are you pre-drilling the body?

self tapping a with washer , no pre drilling. Just dont over tighten. I put about 8 screws on each side and its sturdy as hell.

^^I may use some of that in addition to screw, but I would NEVER mount side skirts with only mounting media/adhesive. A few screw holes that are properly sealed/protected from weather should not hurt anything.

You may predrill a small hole, use a small bit of silicone and then finish screwing the skirts on. But that is just how I would mount em.

i am with you on that one.
I know a guy who installed Turbo II side skirts using double sided tape and has worked wonderfully for quite some time. The only thing that sucks about mounting feed side skirts with tape is the risk factor-Feed side skirt are freaking expensive, don't wanna loose one in the highway.

The thought of drilling holes in the bottom of the FD just doesn't sit well with me. I do want these sideskirts really bad though.

i drilled 5/8th holes and welded nuts into my chassis and now i have six 10mm bolts that secure mine to my chassis. they arent budging anytime soon. For the guy that suggested the 3m trim adhesive, i hope you were joking...

I saw a post in here before that a FEED side skirt can fit under the OEM mud guards. It is possible right?

How and what is everyone painting theirs with? Textured, Gloss, Flat?

Mine aren't c/f. I was thinking about giving it the same textured coating as my R1 front lip. Not sure what would look good though.
