For those with the '99 front

I am looking into purchasing a '99 front for my car. Where did you guys order yours from and how much did it cost? How long did it take to arrive? I know of a few places that offer the front including the rx7 store, but I want to hear from actual customers on the ease and details of their transactions. I hope to order mine sometime in the near future, so any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Thumbs up

I got my '99 front from Rotary Performance, www.rx7.com. I believe it took around 3 weeks or so after the order to have it delivered. The quality is great as far as fitment and it came in perfect shape. It does have the license plate holder, I don't know if you were looking for one w/out one, and the total cost for me was ~$1400 with EVERYTHING (lights, rebar, and lip spoiler). I don't know if anyone makes a kit with the proper connectors but the '99 lights needed to be modified to accept the connector from the older style. I don't have pictures to post sorry. Hope this helps out....

i had pretty much the same results as 2rotortt but i went through corksport, there was a little delay with the lip spoiler but it was due to a them getting two left sides (or so they claim). service was good and since it's an oem part the fit was perfect. Connecting the lights was simple. Search the archives for a write up on how i did it. I'd rather not do it again, but if you can't find it feel free to contact me.

I was going to order but I called mazda competition(lowest prices) I believe and they said that the bumpers were on back order and that they are awaiting shipment from japan but it's not been filled yet. So they said whenever they can get the bumpers in japan plus another 6 weeks. I have a show to make in early may so I can't wait. So my '99 spec bumper plans got put on hold..

Is mazda competition at www.mazdamotorsports.com ? I noticed that they had the cheapest prices also, but I haven't gotten a chance to contact them yet. I noticed that all of the other sites listed are around $1400 for the front with the combo lights, lip, and re-bar.

Black: I got mine from SP Engineering in about three weeks. They ordered directly from Japan and it came over in their next cargo container shipment. They are in S. Cali so if you want to give them a call please let me know.

For those people who dont like the license plate holder Pettit racing sells a replica 99 front end without the license plate snout.

FOr all the people who bought the 99 front end did you also buy the re-bar. Can you do it without the re-bar, and how hard if you have done it without. Thanks Marc

rx7speed811: Sorry, I did not update, I live in San Diego right now.

mmonaco: I heard that you can fit the 99 front end w/o the re-bar, but will not fit perfectly even with slight modifications. If you want an exact fit, get the rebar. I got it and I think that it was worth the money.

efinirx7: I think that I paid about $3700. It included the front rebar, lip, front corner lights, rear lights and spoiler. Everything is OEM so everything fits perfectly (no ties to hold it in place that is needed with other kits). Call Alex or Ivan at (626) 333-5398. Goodluck.

rxshun7...it was kinda expensive, but once you see it on the car, I think it was well worth the money. It looks like a brand new car with the new paint job. If the kit was not OEM, it probably would not cost so much.
