Get what you pay for? How are they any better than a $125 harness from any of a number of manufacturers? $375, jesus christ, do you even drive the car on the track?

Thats actually a deal for the Takata's, MSRP is around $425 each, along with an additional $99 for a set of the shoulder pads. If you want to make it a 5pt or 6pt add in another $50. Basicly you have to be a real JDM fan boy to want them, seeing I doubt they are any better then your standard 6pt Simpson system which costs only $139.99....

If you get what you pay for there should have been 4 harnesses in that box!

I can't wait to see how they get mounted...

Not to mention you have to replace harnesses when you actually crash with them... reguardless of what condition the car is in.

Or at least you're supposed to :P

Most people don't realize this, but they also have a limited shelf-life. SFI only certifies belts for 2yrs, after that they need to be replaced or recertified. You really want to spend $700 ever two years replacing your belts? I'll stick with my G-Force belts, thank you very much.

As rynberg and DamonB already pointed out, takata's are a complete waste of money.

Yep... although I think spending the cash on a cam lock is worth it just for the convenience.

I love how everyone hates on the Takata harnesses just because they're so expensive.

You can get cam locks cheaper than that as well:

Nobody hates them; they are just saying they aren't worth the price.

I mean compared to a latch-lock... It's not like you have to buy a Takata to get a camlock.

Its a logical reason. We are not hating it because the are ineffective, popular or "JDM". Its simply why spend 5 times as much and boast about its high quality when any other harness is going to be of the same level of quality and cost significantly less? Its dumb, the only reason someone buys it is because they want to be "JDM", "Cool" or they lik the green. Thats like buying your suspension because the coil-overs are green, or you bushings because they are red.

I don't know why people give other people crap for how they spend their own money on their own car. If he bought them because he saw them on option video or because they are green whatever its his choice. Now if he's saying his belts are high quality then ones that cost half the price then good for him safety is important and you usually do get what you pay for.

BTW: those green belts are pretty sick looking and I would like to see pics when they are in your ride.

I guess some of us are just tired of the rabid "JDM" worship that goes on in this forum...

The OP stated that they were worth every penny....with no justification. They meet the same safety ratings as any other reputable harness, except they cost 3 times the price. And safety during what? We asked if he even tracked the car and got no answer.....
