CA tachometer works but speedometer does not

My car is a 1991 FC GTU, the previous owner said It they just stopped working one day and never bothered to fix it. All gauge's work (Tachometer, oil pressure.. etc) except for the speedometer and odometer. I Search the site and I saw some people had the same question but, there was no real explanation or guidance on how to solve the problem. I have the wiring diagram http://www.rotaryart.uk.com/acatalog...5wiringLHD.pdf but this will be my first time behind a dashboard and I don't want to **** up anything more so some guidance or advance would be great. Thanks

Most of the time when the speedo stops working, it has either come unplugged from the back of the speedo or the tranny. Someone might jump in and correct me but the plug for the speedo the tranny should be on the rear of the driver side of the transmission.

the cable just popped out, if you don't hear something behind your dash rattling, then it's on the tranny's side, you don't need to go behind the dash.

Alright good stuff good stuff so I'll check the tranny first then the back of the dashboard. But I don't hear anything moving behind so it might be the connection to the tranny I'll check it out tonight or tomorrow.
