for the headliner you pop all the trim off and the visors and mirror then if you have a sunroof take the trim ring off. it just pulls off. once you have all the interior trin down, there are a few little plastic screws you take out. then slide it forward to make it out of some metal holding bracets in the back. then just take it out the hatch.
i would just recommend taking the existing headliner off and replacing it with new from a fabric store ($10.99 a yard), 3m general adhesive remover or acetone takes it off nicely. then spray the board with 3m contact adhiesive and the foam side of the headliner material. then just put the material on slowly gently rubbing it on making sure not to get any creases. and dont let the headliner touch itself after being sprayed with adheasive. then just trim it up with a razor blade.
i kust changed my headliner from blue to black. it looks nice with the blue interior i have now too. the whole process only took me about an hour to take everything apart and put back in, but i used to install aftermarket sunroofs so i did it everyday.
if you have any questions just ask!
ps, its easier than it sounds and it looks better to just replace it.

in an fc there is one screw for the visor holder ans 2 in the visor
for the light/mirror you have 2 scews under a plastic cover that slides off torward the back of the car and 2 under the main light.
