Suggestions on mounting 6x9's without a box.

Ok, my roll cage is replacing where the rear bins go. So i'm going to weld sheet metal on an angle to cover up the suedo seat area the cover it with carpet.

The car came with 2 6x9's in box. I want to take the speakers out and mount them in the sheet metal where the bin area is. You can kinda see in the picture. The problem is there is not enough space to get the box under there.

So I have to mount these, i'm just wondering what I should do underneath to the metal they wont be mounted in a box. I really don't care about audio that much at all, just so it doesnt sound like ****. Should I cover the area with dynamat or something?

Right where the battery is, there is going to be a piece of sheet metal going over that area then the speakers mounted on that.

I would just bolt some MDF wood to the roll cage going across the car and mount them in it. You could cover it with cloth of some kind too.
