FD Interior parts...?

Is there a reliable place to get interior parts for the 3rd gen? I see all these engine and exterior parts list and aftermarket parts but I have been having a bugger of a time with the interior.

the interior is a PITA to find pieces for. You can buy them new from Malloy Mazda, but expect to spend a bundle on them.

Part of the problem with interior panels is that 90% of the sellers break the tabs when they remove them. So the used market is fraught with fools gold, IMHO.

Unfortunately an all-new interior from Mazda will cost you a few thousand dollars. It's scary.

I was trying to buy a new replacement CD player from a discount Mazda parts joint out of NC and he gave me the lovely news that Mazda is phasing out the parts supply for the RX7. I'm sure there are a lot of parts still available, but the CD apparently isn't.

I'm all ears if someone knows where I can find one.

At this point, I think I'll just get it repaired though.

Only the Touring model came with a CD player(remember we're talking about 1992 here), however you're in luck. Late model Mazda Miata's have the same head unit as the late model RX-7s in Japan had. It's a direct fit if you already have the stock double DIN system, and it has the controls on the left side of the stereo instead of the right side(as the JDM FDs have).

So basically, take a trip to your local wreckers and start searching for NB Miatas(98-05)

Thanks for the reply, but I'm looking for a replacement CD player for my '94 RX-7.

Sorry, I was a little convoluted in my response. The 98-05 Miata CD player will directly fit your 94 RX-7 and give you the OEM look. Check out this thread.

Thanks!
You've been quite helpful to this newbie.

Very interesting. That looks like a very good option. This way I can keep the clean, stock look to my interior and keep the factory AM/FM radio with space saver in storage. I like to keep all of those type parts just in case I ever sell it. <eeks>
