Subwoofer question

I have a RF 400W 4 channel amp. My original plan was hook up the front speakers and one woofer to the amp. Now I'm just going to add a 10" sub in the DamonB sub box.

What subwoofer will work well with my amp? I'm looking to get a JL Audio 10W3v2 or a Image Dynamics idq10.

How many ohms should the voice coils be?

Should I just get a new amp and subwoofer?

Sorry if this question is stupid, but when it comes to electrical stuff, especially car audio, I'm completely inept.

Oh yeah, I searched...

And mounting depth is a problem. The DamonB box will allow about 5"-5.25" mounting depth.

well the mounting depth will limit what sub you can get. although, if you find a really nice 10" sub that you want with bigger than 5.25 mounting depth, just add a 10" ring to the outside of the box where the sub screws in.

if i'm not mistaken, you can also mount a 12" sub in the box? just have to make the hole bigger obviously.

about the ohm level, you should go to your local stereo shop and ask them about it.

what are the specs on your amp? 4x???watts at x ohms..... that will help too.

Thanks for your response. The amp is 4x100 @ 2ohms.
