Subwoofer Enclosure
I said I wasn't going to do it, but... I need a little bump in the FD. I need some ideas for a subwoofer enclosure to house a single 10" or 8" that will not take up much trunk space. If anyone has pics, that would be great! Thanks.
Mine:
Custom made, about .8 CU feet of airspace. I need to make the box a little bigger, but I am thinking about taking the spair tire out (dont need it) and putting the sub there instead, because it currently take up ALL my storage space.
Its pushed so far out (towards rear) because the amp is quite large, and I didnt want to have it showing all the time, so its infront of the box.

Pictures of the rest of the car are below(sig).
Interior is turning black
just have to do the peices behind the seats, and redo the driver side door!

I've been designing and building all kinds of custom speaker enclosures since I was 16. I just need a little inspiration and motivation to do this one.
just build a long tall box that fits flush behind your divider. It will take almost no space. I have a JL 10W6 and Alpine 5 channel full system amp that I could sell you too. I used to install car audio and the shop guru told me that the 10w6 is the best choice for this application because it is a top of the line sub that requires very little enclosure volume.

I use a Q-Logic box for my 12" Rockford Fosgate Punch XLC, with an Alpine VM12 MRV-F505 amp mounted to the front of it. It nest nicely between the rear shock towers and against the strut brace.

DamonB has an enclosure kit... don't know what's going on with it anymore this post is kind of old.

I'm interested in building something around these thin subs by Blaupunkt:

2.25" mounting depth
Yeah! Now getting a hold of these is going to be a problem, right now anyway. Blau isn't listing them on their site.
I've read a couple of people are using Infinity Basslinks and are quite happy with them.
bajaman, what Q-Logic box are you using? can you provide a link? Maybe a pic?

But I want to keep my spare as is, and this was a pretty easy way to put a 12" in the car without doing a custom built special enclosure.

Seriously, the nice thing about the way that is set up is it comes out pretty easily, I just take it out and take it inside my friends' house when I am in those....potentially hazardous areas.
And yeah, if I crank it up to "ghetto level" it will definitely move things, but that is not my style. I keep the amp turned down to where the sub just compliments the other 6 speakers nicely.
