Question Stock FD Seats - What part is this?

Ever since I had my RX7, I had Bride seats. I have since decided to go with the stock seats. I picked up a set, and am wondering what is this rod in the pic for? The person I bought them from didn't know. I looked in the car, and didn't see anywhere it goes to. Can someone tell me what this is? I am clueless because I have never had stock seats in my car before. A google search didn't yield any results.

the seat belt receiver rides on that rod. see page S-66 of section S (body) of the service manual for an illustration.

Thanks for the response. I see from the manual that it bolts down somewhere but I don’t see a place for the bolt to go in my car? It may be under the carpet somewhere. Does anyone have a picture they can share showing approximately where this hole should be? I don’t want to have to cut up too much of my carpet to find it.

RHD or LHD car?

Nevermind, it seems they are the same.

I think it is a slide back limiter.

Might be a smaller bolt compared to the other seat rail bolts.

If you do not have that opening, maybe you have a replacement carpet?

Thank you for all the helpful replies. Yes it has had aftermarket carpet put in before. So I need to determine the location so I can cut it. I don’t have the bolts for it. Trying to figure that out too as these rods have no bolts either

Those bolt holes may be open to the underneath. You could possibly poke a pike up from underneath.

Where there are supposed to be threaded holes I found there were rings. I ended up just removing these rods. Got the seats in. Thanks for all the help guys
