Springs/hydraulics for carbon Trunk lid
i have seen several carbon trunk lids (mainly from seibon) and while they fit quite well, i hated the fact that the springs deform the trunk lid when its closing.
i decided to place an order for stronger trunk lid (dry carbon re-amemiya trunk lid)hoping that the issue would be resolved but from the looks of it, it probably wont
I dont want to eliminate the gas springs. its still a street car
one solution is to find worn out springs. but i would rather find something in the same dimensions but about half the force (if not less)
has anyone came across this ?
Thanks

If you can fab stuff yourself, then see my solution in this thread and use alternative part numbers for gas springs with half the strength of stock.

What about the struts from a car with a lighter hatch or even a trunk? You'd have to figure out the mounts, but I'll bet you can find one with the perfect amount of lift. Maybe something from a car like a ...I dunno Camry or Accord.
I'd find a way to measure how much lift I need, then hit the junk yard and start trying them until you find a compatible one, then if needed, go to Rock Auto and buy some new Camry (or whatever...Prius maybe?) trunk struts.
Then make a How-to thread for the next guy.

Gas spring adjustment
You might be able to vent some pressure to soften the spring.
