What kind of SPL ratings have you guys (preferably FC) got in you rx? And what kind of system are you running to do so?

I'll find out in about a month when my local hi-end stereo place has it's annual show. I got a 137.5 in my camry with 2 12" kicker comps and a "600w " Kenwood amp, crappy HU last year. I'd hope I can slaughter that this year in my GXL with 2 12" JLWOs, 400w Eclipse Amp, and Eclipse HU. Just wondering what I should expect.

 

as long as you have a HUGE *** ported box you'll do good

 

eh, i'm not a big fan of ported boxes, i have a decent sized sealed box, 3/4" MDF, it just sounds better with rawk than a ported does

but does anyone have numbers from their rides?

 

I hit 135db in my FB. Two Alpine ZR 12'S and a JBL GTS600 amp. The enclosures are only .65cuft a side so I won't get much louder then this.

the Jl audio W0's are far better than the kickers, But do to the limited xmax and sealed box don't expect anything louder than your kicker set up.Ported boxes sound great with rock and almost any kind of music just as long that its designed right, tuned low, and properly loaded in the car.I have two Jl audio 12w3d2 in my rx and hit over 142 dbs on a ported enclosure tuned to 28 hz.And this box design was made for sound quality not just alot of boom.I have 500 watt jl audio amp to it.It sounds great.With sealed enclosures the bass is alittle tighter but the low bass suffers and distorts at higher levels.Your w0 most likely need around 1.25 cubic feet for each driver and about 1.75 cubic feet for the ported.I use to favor sealed until I heard how good a ported enclosure can sound when properly built and tuned, but hey thats just my two cents....peace

 

wow that's seriously all you got? I like the sound of your setup, especially the 500/1, but I was thinking with a hatch this year, and much less airspace in the car I'd do better than that. Probably not if that's all you got, but I guess I'll see on the 22nd.
