The SpiritR seats are the same as the red recaros that are in the type RZ's. You can go to www.4jspec.com, they sell the seats as 1 or a pair. But its way too expensive, you might as well go with sparco or something (much cheaper)!

Here's the full address where the seats are listed:

well how about someone takes measurements of the spirit R's, and goes to a custom seat company and see what they'll do for a group buy...? Just a thought

Well, I'm not sure why they cost so much - maybe because they actually FIT in the car? Most aftermarket seats don't fit well and the brackets for them make the seat sit up higher. Maybe these were specially bracketed to have a stock ride height, which would make them unlike any other seat out there (hense the price).

well if the brackets were the only thing changed on an otherwise mass produced recaro seat...couldnt someone reproduce those for us who dont have $5000 to dump on seats? All speculation of course

Yeah, that too - the back of them is Kevlar.

That was pure speculation...what I meant to say was that the seat bottom may have been custom made to fit in the FD. Basically, it may not be exactly the same as the Recaros available to everyone.

Yes tons. My mom went skiing and my brother went snowboarding today. It's really windy right now too on top of the cold snowy weather. Wind chill factor just makes it so damned cold

I lived up there for a very short time but spent a lot of hours on Bear Mountain and Summit.

ON TOPIC* The seat covers are a decent price, so if you wanted to cover the same seat made of whatever.

actually the seats do sit a bit higher than the ones we get over here.... apexkw has a set and my i can feel my head closer to the roof than in my car... both touring models.... the seats are nice, but uncomfortable for anything more than around town driving..... and i'm not a priss.... i've got solid mounts and braces everywhere... but we went up to sebring and it just got old sitting in those seats.... course i was kinda tired... i just wanted to lean back and go to sleep but the seats don't recline... i guess they are cool.... but for the price i would just skip em......

vspecpgt---Depends on your rails.

I hear you though I like racing seats but I want to recline sometimes too. Waiting in the parking lot for a buddy, at the train station waiting for the wife, after the club to sleep off the drinks etc........

Thanks for the input guys. $7000 a set is a little too much for me. Anyone know of a site where I can buy those red recaros for cheap though? They dont have to be the Spirit R ones but for some reason I just love those red Recaros.

yes...but like I said, bracketing will be the hard part. I don't believe Recaro makes brackets for the FD. If I'm wrong, someone please correct me. Anyway,

Check out Sparco Roadster seats. They actually look almost exactly like the late model JDM 7s. Average price for a pair is a few under 1k. I heard they do fit without the side bolster touching the door but no one has really posted a pic on the forum. I was planning on getting a pair for my car and using the stock sliders for mounting.

I am 6'4" and no mater how much I want the Sparco Torinos or a reclining racing seat it doesn't work. I tried to fit in a car with them and its tight, not too bad if you don’t have a sunroof, but still I would rather have stock. I did ride in a friends car, non RX-7, which had Sparco Speed 1 piece seats. Assuming they wouldn't be comfortable I was surprised when I drove a good hour trip in them.
