speaker size ... wtf??

well i searched these forums for speaker sizes for my fd and came up wit the front are 6.3 but 6.5 will fit.

i also went to circuit city and best buy and was told the fronts are 6.5 as well.

well i purchased some 6.5's and now come to find out that 6.5 is no where near the right size...wtf?

they are more likely 5.25.

did anyone else encounter this on the removal of their stockers

you can get shallow 6.5s to fit with some fab work but 5.25s are way easier. Also depends on whether you have a bose amplified system(the one with the sub) or the 4 speaker system. The bose system uses 4in speakers in the doors which makes anything hard to fit. But I managed to get it to work with 5.25 components. Good luck

I have boston 6 1/2" coaxes in my FD. I had some one intstall them for me, but worked out well for fit wise on mine. My stock radio wasn't the bose system and as said before if you do have the bose that could make a differance on the fit.
