Sparco Evo 2 Seats
I searched, but couldn't find anyone who is running these seats in their FD. They are just a little bigger than the Sparco EVO seat. I wanted to know if these would fit in my FD. They are fixed position, so they should drop the seat about an 1'' I'm hoping, I'm just not sure if they are too wide for the car.
Anyone running these seats?

It won't fit. Pretty much anything with shoulder wings wider than 23.25" is going to hit the door panel. Even narrower seats may have trouble clearing the door panel, depending on what position they are in the car.
he-who-cannot-be-named had them in his car. told me he fabbed adapters to go w/ OEM slider/bracket.

It looks like their hitting the door panel to me. I guess it's possible their wider in the "right spot", but I've personally seen 23" wide seats and they were right up against both the center tunnel and the door panel.

I'm a big guy, and I think those are the only fixed position seats that would be comfortable for me.
Thanks.

Here's the best solution:
*remove passenger seat
*go to local shop that has Sparco seats
*put Evo2 seat in passenger side and see if it fits
There are seats that are wider through the hip/kidney without having really wide shoulder wings.

i have sparco roadsters in my car. They do rub the door, and have put dents in the door panel. i guess thats something you have to put up with, unless you have extreemly long legs.

Those of you how have puts seats in your Rx, have you noticed any extra room? Is the aftermarket seat lower than the stock seats? I have heard only a fixed position seats will lower the actual seat position. Have any of you found this to be true?
Damian has these in his yellow track car. The previous owner fabbed custom brackets i believe to make them fit. He said they do not hit the doors and feel great. Espeacially on the track!!
how about some mazdaspeed seats?

I just installed my Sparco Evo seat on the drivers side a week or so ago. I had to make custom brackets to attach to the stock sliders. Its not really too hard.
To make them even come close to fitting, I had to cut the seat belt off of the rail so that I was able to push the seat as close as possible to the tunnel. With the Sparco side mount brackets litterally rubbing the tunnel, the shoulder wings still hit the door panels. The doors are still easy enough to close though it takes a little bit of a firmer push. It does dent the door panel, so if this is a show car, it might not be a great idea. If the EVO 2 seat is any wider at the shoulders than the EVO, It's going to be very hard to make fit. All in all it took me about 5 hours to get this one seat installed, and thats with having to redo the brackets once.
I'm going to start a new thread with a full pictured write up, and hopefully if I have the time, pictures of the brackets along with templates for them. If you had templates, It would probably only take roughly two hours to install it.
Last thing. I'm about 5'9" tall, 140lbs, 30" waist, and fairly broad shoulders. This seat fits me perfectly. I still have room at the hips, and the shoulders are perfect. I have the front of the seat all the way up, and the back all the way down, for a more comfortable reclined position. But because of how high my knee's are, I have to have the seat ALL THE WAY forward so that my lower back is against the seat and I can press the clutch all the way to the floor. If I were to recline to the seat less, I would be able to move the seat back some. So if you are shorter than me, you will probably have to have the seat at a more upright position to be able to press the clutch all the way to the floor.

I'm looking to install Sparco Pro 2000s as they fit me perfectly. I'm 5'10" 215 lbs and an ex running back to give you an idea on my build (big legs and butt). My contact at Sparco suggested shaving and recontouring (?) the outer shoulder bolsters on both seats and recovering with the fabric (it's removable). It will look slightly off but clean in its execution and I won't miss any of the bolstering because the door will be there it hold me. Oh yeah, and I'll be able to keep the rail adjustment. I'm surprised more people aren't doing this.

Thanks Everyone
After I put my new Steering wheel in, it made a lot more room. I put a removable hub on to make it simple to get in and out. I still want the Evo2's, I'll post pics if I get them in.
