And under the hood, you have to spray the stuff on pretty thick so "thinning" would be out. I put my hood liner back on to cover the Quiet Coat.

David -
Thanks for sticking with this thread.
Long story short, I'm getting my engine rebuilt, and while its being done, get the car repainted and deaden the sound in the interior.
It would be easy for me to spray in the panels and up in the fender wells while the car is being repainted (panels off!).
I'll give this stuff a whirl and report back next year with a full write up!
Thanks again.

Just an FYI:
I used 100 sq ft of FATMAT in my FC. That's one layer and did the doors plus the entire floor pan from the firewall to the spare tire well. Someone earlier was asking for an estimate...

Alright so I found a box (36 sq. ft.) of Dynamat in my basement and I wanna shut up some rattles and noise in my vert. What are the primary areas that are best to cover? I sprayed sound deadener behind the seats and up a bit into the spare tire well, and there are no rattles there but it sounds like the doors are a bit. I've searched this thread a few times but can't find a straight answer.

If you have already gotten the spare tire area behind the seats in a vert, I would say next is the doors, unless you feel adventurous and want to rip up all of your carpet to do the floor.

Lizard Skin Product
I bought a few gallons of "Lizard Skin" Sound control. It is a spray on application and makes it nice to get into all the "nooks and crannys". Although My car is not running to specifically tell road condition sounds and such i still got a eye opening experience. After tons of research i got gallons of this stuff and decided to go to town. I did the chassis (only interior wise, obviously) from the firewall, all the way to the trunk. I did inside the rear quarter panels, inside the wheels wells, pretty much every inch of the interior and inner structure of the car. After i completed this i decided to do a test. I had a few shells laying around that were in the exact same state as my car, so i set them side by side. The results were very surprising! Just sticking your head in the trunk area and talking was a noticable difference, tapping on the metal from the outside of the car was a astonishing. One sounds like a tin can the sounds like its concrete. So far everything seems like its going to work out and its going to reduce noise dramatically. At this point i HIGHLY recommend it.
This pretty much sums it up-
