Simple Question re: Factory Bose Speakers (1993 FD)

Hi all..I need to troubleshoot an audio problem in my driver side (left) door speaker/amp.
My first step has to be to remove the speaker assemblies from each door and swap them....to see if the fault is in the speaker/amp unit or the head unit.

Before I start, my simple question is this:
With both door speaker/amp units removed, are the plugs identical (so that I can quickly swap them for a test)?? Or are the left and right plugs unique?

Or better yet, are there left/right plugs behind the head unit whereby I could do a test without removing the units from the doors?

TIA Ed V

no plugs behind the head unit. Just lead wires that go to the stock amps. Yes the plug is the same on the left and right though, but the stock speaker box is not the same so it wont fit in the hole in the door. The amp itself is attached to the stock speaker box.

lol im sure they do still supply them, but i assure you the price you will pay for them will be ridiculous and you might as well order some adaptor plates and put some 6.5" speakers of your choosing in there. Sounds much better. I have a Kenwood Double Din Navi unit that blew my door speakers when i first put it in, so i switch them for some 6.5" kickers, kept the bose subs in the back and it sounds SOOOOOO much better.

The BOSE System belongs in the trash, pure and simple. Get some adapter plates and give your car some modern speakers. Wiring will be much simpler all the way around since you won't need amps for the speakers anymore.
