should I paint my C-West headlight kit or leave cf?
I'm really starting to hate the look of the CF on my headlight kit.
I know it's been talked about before but I don't think anyone ever had the ***** to try it out. I think it'll give it a more luxury look than a ricer look. I'm just thinking about now but I'm painting the rest of my car next week so I just might. Although the lexan lens have sort of a tint to them, I think I can get the color to match if I have the paint supplier mix up a lighter color to compensate.
Or I just might make a mold of the CF pod, make a replica and paint that to see how it looks before commiting myself

CF on your C-West lights is hardly "rice" looking, but you are right about having it painted and looking a bit more luxurious.
I would definitely make a mold, paint it, slap it in and take a look-see. So you can then make a decision without painting over CF.

Most people are so infatuated with having a little carbon fiber that they leave them raw. Personally, I think they'd look much better painted body color. But so would ever CF hood I've seen...

I'm not sure of this last one, it may just be a close match and the poor image quality.
There are also a couple floating around painted white and red, although I am unable to find the pictures at this time. Obviously they are more common unpainted than not for exactly the reasons you stated.

Damn, it looks pretty good painted red!! I think I'm going to paint them for sure. Jim is right about people being infatuated with cf, I'm even guilty of it Painting the cf pods would look way better in my opinion, I just wished C-West didn't make such good looking cf.

mazdaspeed, I think it would look very cool if I can chrome them. The thing is they are cf, how would I chrome them? Do you have any info on chroming plastic?

at one point, i thought about chroming them too but i thought it would be too much for my car. I think you should just keep it carbon fiber cuz it somewhat matches your turn signals. If you paint them or chrome them, they're gonna really clash. Keep it unpainted, your car looks awesome already.

i dont see why people dont think chroming the housings will be a bad idea. if you look at every over car on the road the all most all the housings have a chrome finish to them. chroming the housings would just give the headlights a more facotry look.

On most cars, the chrome is being used to reflect the light, unlike the C-West lights. Having chrome for the whole light housing would stick out just like silver light covers on red cars.

Paint them body color John, and get an emblem for your front bumper. It'll make it look less like a kit car.
