second gen convertable top
I live in phx az and just had a HUGE NAIL BITTING HAIL STORM that RIDDLED my top with golf ball size hail.
I've seen the replacement tops and was wondering if anyone has bought one and put it on their car?
I want to know how difficult it is. Is this something that someone with pretty good mechanic skills could do, or if it should be done by a professional?
From what I have read from the manufacturer that its pretty easy if you good with your hand and tools. I just want to hear it from someone that has completed their viynel top from a premade covertable top company.

I bought a Robbins top. Very good quality, vinyl but good. I had a shop do mine. The vinyl comes shaped but no holes were made for the window, so it had to be cut. I consider myself good with my hands, but when i saw what the guys at the shop were doing, i'm glad i paid to have them do it. It's definitely a hassle. The material i have, vinyl, had to be stretched some to fit the car. If money is of concern to you, then do it yourself. I bought the top for $550, and paid $450 for installation for a total of $1k. So you can choose money over convenience. Hope this helps. Good luck.
