The rain does suck in the summer time....but the heat is worse and with the scoot hood, with my dual oil coolers, fluidyne, and Blitz FMIC, the highest temp in traffic has been 87 C. Not bad for an FD in FL.

With prep.. sanding and bondo the gap where the front scoop goes in to the hood... blending the hood into the fenders and paint I think I paid $850.00

So in total, you're looking at a ballpark estimate of 1700 with hood and painting, right?

ur hood is fine... but in my opinion, it looks best wiv a body kit like the sivler FD. But it could look even better wiv a wide body kit...

You can get a Scoot for cheaper if we can get a few people together. I talked to the guys from Seibon and they said they could make a Carbon Fiber one for aroun $800. Their quality looks nice and they said they'd even change the design to fix the strut bar interference issue if we wanted. I just want someone to go to their should in Indiana and see the hoods in person to see the fit and finish. It'd be nice to have them bolt one on and talk some pictures to see if they do in fact, fit perfect.

This was an alternative I was concidering, cutting my stock hood up to either make these vents raised (Like in Pic) or recessed... and since it would be on the hood I have now there would be no fitment issues...

At first glance it's like Huh ??? How did Red Paint get into the interior ! ???
Then:
Jesus.... they took a stock Hood cut the center out and fibre glassed / carbonfibred the center part in... and then painted it back... Yuck I Dunno.... If I were to do that I'd be red... I've never understood the fascination of black hoods on non black cars....

I love jspecs RE hood! The Viper's center scoop was proven non-functional at speed, but I'm not sure about Scoots

Scoots Center Scoop pour all their air over the Master Brake Cylinder, and the ABS / Turbo Area... which isn't stupid...

The Venting I'm talking about are the louvers, and those are needed for the V-Mount to flow properly...

Yo,

The Scoot hood is totally Rice. It's a direct rip off of the Porsche GT-1 hood.

You might as well put some Z3 Fender gills on there since you're ripping off styling cues from other cars.

Riice!

I would personally keep it as subtle as possible.... out here in CA you don't want any extra *attention* by the cops. Their latest weapon is handing out smog referee referrals.
In Dcrosby's case, the headlights & foglights are already quite a stand-out.

herblenny that's a very nice 7 you have there !! That's more or less what I wanted for my 7... some accenst, and some cool parts, yet no stickers, or any retarded crap
Is that the '99 Spec WIng !? If so what made you decide on it over the Racing Beat type 2 ??

Also Rotor Rooter, I have little choice, I need a vented hood to let my IC breathe... and I haven't seen anything even close to the size of vents except for the N1 hood, and that is just as aggressive...

What I might want to do is swap hoods, for events, go scoot, for normal driving, go stock...

RarestRX, All I have to say, is that Rice seems to be very subjective, and I personally start seeing rice with a GT Wing and Neon Ground effects... If you keep the body clean, like herblenny, in my oppinion that's just an enthusiats car that is borrowing cool ideas from otehr manufacturers... Personally I liked the scoot hood cause it reminded me of a ferrari... and I bought it before I even saw a picture of the Porsche GT... but that's not really my prime concerne now... I need something that's functional...

Yeah, it's a shame....isn't it?

Viper GTS fender slats, Qvale Mangusta side vents, Porsche GT-1 hood.

It's a Mazda GTusta-17X!

Kevin,

Everyone borrow ideas from others..
I guess you have a very original car.. with no mods or all the stuff you might of put on to your car is "your own idea".. Please.. thats just not possible.. we try different things and we put them on.. I did.. Scoot is very functioning hood..

Well, I believe all my parts are pretty functional.. except maybe the fenders.. I put them on because I got them cheap.. And from the beginning, i posted that I didn't quite like them, the fenders are for show.. i admit.. but everything else seems to work, far as performance.. I think you might be thinking those NA cars with vented hood or something..

DC.. My rear wing is 99 wing.. I originally wanted to go complete 99 conversion.. somehow I got side tracked.. And thank you for your kind words.. No stickers for me.. or some bright *** ugly color.

sprocket the orgiinal hood that you posted is the RE-AD9 hood by RE Amemiya. Which is the best hood for the fd hands down IMO. But also if youve never seen a porsche gt1 it has the scoot hood on it as well so if you dont like the hood because it resembles a viper think of it resembling that porsche and it might make you feel better.

Yo,

Herblenny, I'm just giving you a hard time. I'm one of those guys that thinks the FD is perfect out of the factory. I don't even like the factory rear spoiler.

I think a base FD with no sunroof, no rear wing, an R1 front lip and some 17's is the hottest thing going.

Yep, I'm crazy.

*grin*
