Is the scoot hood overdoing it !? If so what do you guys think of welding little 4" louvers (two Rows) into the aluminum hood !?

Hey Crosby, too much in my opinion. But the rest of your car is sick.

BOOT THE SCOOT

Derek,

I saw your first FD at the SoCal7 "Engine Rebuild" that never happened about a year ago. I say boot the Scoot.

I have never seen a Scoot hood that fit right. Big gaps in the front, contact in the vent area (I think you had been dealing with that problem). Every time I see one I say to myself "Never, ever, get one of those."

Your second FD is a real stunner. Nice job. Why not go with a v-mount int/rad and get one of those other vented hoods to compliment that set up? Function and form. You know the hood -- the one with the two vents...

There's my two cents...

Best of luck.

I like this hood:

I am not a fan of the front intake hole on the Scoot hood - I think it resembles a Viper too much that way. I understand the added cooling properties, and the possibility of a ram-air setup, but I just like the louvers better. I also like the hood Twin-Turbo Teddy has....but I forgot what kind that is.....Kind of looks like an Evo hood.

That's a Knightsport hood. In his case, it's the real thing. R-Magic has a nearly-identical hood as the KS, except the lines around the vents are straighter...

Derek, do what you like, man! If you want my opinion.... I would say tilt the fogs a bit lower

I do have the scoot hood... I just need to get some of the scratches from
<------ that out of it... but it survived.. and is re-useable... it's just my GF thinks it'll look too busy with the headlights, and I liked the hood from the get-go... and the biggest reason... Since I do want to get V-Mount, I need a vented hood to be able to get rid of the hot air.. but what kind of vents is the question here... maybe I'll do a couple more "Mock Ups.." and have you guys vote on that .... So Hood Mod is a must, just which one.. is the question.... and of course I allready have scoot, and noone is going to give me retail for it so... I need to factor in the cost of swapping...

P.S. I did lower the Fogs... and did some "Product Testing" no more pissed of motorists !

I think that it's your fog lights that make it too busy.

Check this out. Dosen't look too busy to me.

Dibs on the foglights!

BTW, since you already have the hood available, you might as well use it. There are other things to spend $$ on (like the engine or v-mount).

i like it, but it has to be on the right bodykit. It looks out of place on some cars.

I think it looks good. If you already have it, keep it! You already have $1200+ sunk into it... Also, hook up a hose/duct and make use of that front scoop for some ram air. BTW, does anyone have one already painted silver stone metallic that they hate and want to sell cheap???j/k

I need to worry about the engine rebuild right now.. once I get this engine rebuilt and the '94 engine and tranny sold, I'll think about the Side Skirts, Feed Front and '99 Spec Spoiler... but untill i'm ready to go to the body shop with 3K it's all pointless since It won't match in color... I'll mull it over... I thank you guys for voting and I'll dig this post up periodically and look at the results... and then I'm gonna make my descison...

I personally like the scoot hood on my rice FD.

If they had the RE-AD Hood when I was looking at the Scoot I would have probably bought it instead though.

I'm curious, what do you do with the scoot hood during terrential downpours, I've had issues with my old scoot hood just cranking the car over after the car cover blew over and some rain made it into the engine bay....
<--(Ex Floridian, I know the kind of storms you guys get)

The hood came with rain guards though I have yet been able to mount them and use them. I was caught in a bad rain once on the highway with no problems...and I mean bad FL rain with poor poor visibility, everyone with hazards on, etc.

Never had a problem with light rain and being at a light or anything like that. Usually if I think its going to rain, it stays in the garage.

Dame here, so did mine, but when I was going to put them in, I had two issues... Everything is pretty cramped in there anyhow... and two isn't the point to get as much hot air out not block off the vents with more stuff !?

And here in Cali, I was just going to deal with the two weeks of rain we get... but in Florida, Jeez the whole summer is nothing but rain (Only in the afternoons)....
